Chicken Karahi Spicy Chicken Karahi Recipe Side dish for Roti & Naan Street food Recipes
INGREDIENTS
1.Oil - 4 Tbsp
2.Whole Spices
(Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom & Bay Leaf)
3.Chicken - 1 Kg
4.Salt - 2 Tsp
5.Pounded Ginger & Garlic
6.Water - 1/4 Cup
7.Tomato - 5 Nos
8.Chilli Powder - 2 Tsp
9.Coriander Powder - 1 Tsp
10.Cumin Powder - 1 Tsp
11.Pepper Powder - 1 Tsp
12.Garam Masala - 1 Tsp
13.Green Chilli - 3 Nos
14.Whisked Curd - 1 Tsp
15.Kasuri Methi
16.Chopped Coriander Leaves
Method
Step 1;
To a wide pan, add oil and whole spices (cinnamon, clove, cardamom, bay leaf).Add the clean chicken to the pan,Saute until there is no more pink.Add salt and cook until chicken releases water,Pound some ginger and garlic and add it to the chicken, add 1/4 cup water and mix well.
Step 2;
Now cut the tomato into half and place each halves over the chicken with cut side down,Close the pan and cook for 10 mins with lid on and After 10 minutes open the lid and remove the tomato skin which will come off easily, Mash the tomato and mix it with the chicken. Cook for 5 mins.Now add all the spice powders starting with chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder, add the partially slit green chillies. Now add the whisked curd,Cover and cook for 10 mins.
Step 3;
Add crushed Kasuri methi and mix it well. Add some chopped coriander leaves and mix well and Chicken karahi is ready.
